Our mission is to make humans great by allowing them to fall in love with fitness and rediscover what their bodies are capable of. Through our programming, encouragement and community, we have every confidence that our members will be able to reach their goals, whatever they may be.

Our coaches are highly qualified and experienced in the fitness industry. Their number one priority is to make sure that each member is on the correct path to achieving their goals and having a good time! To achieve these goals, we offer CrossFit classes, Functional Fitness classes and Personal Training with a variety of different membership options.

EMMA MORGAN

Position: Owner & Head Coach

Emma is the founder of CrossFit Ballito and a CrossFit Level 3 coach with a BSc in
Human Kinetics and a Precision Nutrition Level 1 certification. A CrossFit Semifinals athlete and new mom, she brings both elite experience and real-life relatability to the gym floor.

 

Since opening CrossFit Ballito in 2019 with her husband James, Emma has been
dedicated to building a strong, supportive community where every member is
empowered to grow, perform, and thrive.

 

She loves swinging around on the bars, sprinting upside down and lifting heavy things,
but is not the biggest fan of an assault bike.
  

Candice Leith

Position: co-owner and coach

Candice is a CrossFit Level 1 and Precision Nutrition Level 1 coach who brings a background in competitive swimming and endurance sports to the CrossFit Ballito team. Since starting CrossFit in 2016, she’s been hooked on the challenge of getting stronger and the energy of training alongside like-minded people.

 

Candice’s coaching style is thoughtful and technique-focused—she loves analysing movement, breaking it down, and helping members of all levels unlock progress. Whether it’s a major milestone or a small breakthrough, she’s passionate about celebrating every win. Her favourite movement is toes-to-bar, and while she may not love box jumps, she’ll still be the first to cheer you on through them

Shane Harrison

Shane is a CrossFit Level 2 trainer with a passion for helping people move better and feel stronger. After starting CrossFit in 2013 to improve his own health, he discovered a deep interest in functional fitness, nutrition, and personal growth.

 

With over five years of coaching experience, Shane brings a thoughtful, supportive approach and a sharp eye for movement. He loves double unders and wall balls (pistols… not so much!) and is committed to helping members progress—one smart, consistent step at a time

Dagmar Muhlbauer

Dagmar is a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer and Emergency Care Practitioner with a lifelong passion for movement and sport. With national colours in two disciplines and a background in cycling and freediving, she discovered CrossFit in 2019 as a way to supplement her training—and never looked back.

 

Now fully immersed in the CrossFit lifestyle, Dagmar loves coaching for the chance to help others push past their limits safely and effectively. Her favourite movement is a heavy deadlift, and while gymnastics isn’t her top pick, she’s always up for a challenge.  
  
  

   

Eunice Matthews

Eunice brings over 14 years of experience as a personal trainer and a deep passion for helping others thrive through fitness. She discovered CrossFit four years ago and was immediately drawn to its supportive community and dynamic workouts.

 

Now a dedicated coach, Eunice believes CrossFit is for everyone—no matter your age or starting point. Her mission is to guide and motivate members to reach new heights alongside a strong, welcoming team.

  
  

   

Candace Butler

Candace is a certified personal trainer and Pilates instructor with over 20 years of experience in private and corporate wellness. She discovered CrossFit in 2020 and was instantly hooked by its powerful mix of strength, conditioning, and skill.

 

Passionate about helping others grow, Candace thrives on guiding members through challenges and celebrating their progress. She loves toes-to-bar—but you won’t catch her volunteering for wall balls!

  
  

   

Triston du Toit

Triston began his CrossFit journey in 2021 and quickly developed a deep passion for the sport. With a focus on personalised coaching and creating a motivating environment, he’s committed to helping members build strength, endurance, and confidence—no matter their starting point.

 

He’s all about big lifts (deadlifts are his favourite!), though he’s still working on making peace with handstand push-ups. Triston brings energy, encouragement, and a strong drive to see others succeed.
